Join Us for a Livestream Masterclass with PubliQuartet

On Saturday, February 10, Associated Chamber Music Players will be holding a Live Stream Chamber Music Masterclass featuring PUBLIQuartet, recipient of the 2015 CMA/ASCAP award for Adventurous Programming. The free two-hour masterclass will be held at the National Opera Center in NYC with a multi-camera crew where award-winning, PUBLIQuartet, will be conducting sessions on Astor Piazzola's Oblivion and Prokofiev's Quartet No. 2 (2nd movt). Attendance for the live event in NYC is free, click here to register!

Join your fellow students and musicians at the Music Conservatory of Westchester and experience this unique event together! The Conservatory is inviting anyone interested to view the live stream on Feb 10th from 2:30 - 4:30pm in Rm 203. Participants will be able to submit questions or comments through a live chat feed. MCW Students Do Amazing Things!

Here are a couple examples of Conservatory students doing amazing things! Congratulations to all!

MCW Student Elizabeth Jones (age 12, student of David Krieger, cello, and Svetlana Gorokhovich, piano) has recently won American Fine Arts Festival Competition where she received 1st Prizes in cello and piano.

Elizabeth also became a Grand Prix winner in cello and received 1st Prize in piano at Concert Festival Competition. She will perform at winners concerts in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center this spring. Elizabeth has been a student at MCW since 2011.



MCW Student Timothy Guida (age 13, student of Svetlana Gorokhovich, piano) was a Grand Prix winner of NY Concert Festival International competition and will be performing with other winners in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on March 19th. Timothy has been a student at MCW since 2012. Best of luck Timothy!

MCW Student Jad Benslimane (age 10, student of Adriana Pera, cello) was accepted to the 4-week Advanced String Program at Interlochen this summer. Jad has been a student at MCW since 2010.

Free Conservatory Faculty Performance!

A special Conservatory Faculty Recital will take place on Saturday, April 30 at 6:00 pm, in the beautiful showroom of Faust Harrison Pianos, right next door to the Conservatory. 

Faculty pianists Svetlana Gorokhovich and Irena Portenko will perform two piano/four hands works by Bach, Schumann and Strauss. The Classical Quartet, featuring faculty violinists Judson Griffin and Margaret Ziemnicka, will perform works by Haydn. This fabulous concert is free and open to the public – so invite your friends!

This concert is supported by a grant from the Westchester Community Foundation, through the Rudyard and Emanuella Reimss Fund.

 

Emily Kalish performing at "A Musical Masquerade"

Violin faculty member, Emily Kalish, will be performing a concert entitled "A Musical Masquerade." Inspired by dancers in disguise, the concert features music of Debussy, Schumann, Prokofiev and Stravinsky. The concert takes place on June 13th at 7pm at The Concert Space at Beethoven Piano located at 211 W 58th St. New York, NY.
