Statement of Teaching Philosophy: My main goal for students is that they develop into thoughtful, inquisitive, confident adults. I believe that by giving children the tools to investigate their world and themselves, we set them on a path toward becoming effective and fulfilled. As violin teachers in a Suzuki program, we use the violin to develop these life tools because it gives children thousands of opportunities to see how their work turns into skill and fluency. They get to see over and over again how things that seem impossibly difficult at first become easy with practice, and the evidence is right in their hands and minds.
