ARTS IN EDUCATION

The Music Conservatory of Westchester brings live performances and workshops to teachers and students to communicate the joy and power of the arts as well as enhance the curriculum. Specific Programs offered include:

Live Performances - Singing Harp focuses on dramatic enactments through mime of folk tales and stories, accompanied by the magical sounds of the harp.

Workshop Clinics - Hands-on clinics for instrumental students with professional musicians build technical competence and develop artistic expression, such as Sound Production and Breath Control for flutists, and Intro to Jazz Improvisation for budding jazz musicians.

Introductory Dalcroze Summer Institute - In collaboration with Southern Westchester B.O.C.E.S, this program for classroom and music teachers offers proven Dalcroze techniques as an instruction tool. The program is taught by a certified Dalcroze instructor and can be approved for in-service training credits in some school districts.
