Music Conservatory Development Assistant
Description: This individual will be responsible for coordinating Development Department needs including correspondence, research, writing assignments, mailings, scheduling meetings and telephone interaction. They will assist in all aspects of fundraising activities supporting the annual fund, alumni data, corporate and foundation funding, and major fundraising events. High attention to detail, strong multi-tasking skills and prior development experience are essential. Candidate must have the ability to think creatively & strategically, to work independently and function as part of a team effort in meeting overall institutional objectives.
Responsibilities:
Development
*
Maintain and manage donor databases for appeals, major gifts, campaign gifts & pledges, corporate and foundation grants, and business office monthly reconciliation.
* Organize print/design and help draft annual fund solicitations.
* Assist in various writing assignments and help in design of development materials.
* Co-coordinate development-related events.
* Interact with program staff to best convey program history, goals, uniqueness & needs.
* Assist the Conservatory in its overall functioning, as needed
Executive
* Record of meetings as needed.
* Organize board meeting materials.
* Assist in ongoing communication with the Board of Trustees.
* Work with senior staff and Executive Director.
* Schedule development-related appointments for Executive Director.
Development Assistant

Minimum Requirements:
*
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate positively to a wide variety of people.
*
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and two years of Development experience, preferred.
*
Excellent writing and verbal skills.
*
Highly organized and dependable accuracy in work.
*
Uses good judgment in establishing priorities and problem solving.
*
Some experience in data research and analysis management
*
Experience working with development & financial databases (FundEZ & QuickBooks), word processing, spreadsheets (Excel) and Internet research.
Preferred Background:
* Works well with others, good sense of humor, proven time management skills, 2 years experience and track record of understanding function of development/advancement office
