Tenor Nils Neubert was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. He holds degrees from The Juilliard School (B.M.), Columbia University's Teachers College (M.A.), and is currently studying towards the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Additional studies have included courses at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Summer Academy), the Festival de Musica Clasica in Puigcerda, Spain, and language studies at the Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci in Italy, as a recipient of the Lucrezia Bori study grant. He is also a graduate of the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Massachusetts. In addition to teaching at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, he teaches at William Paterson University in New Jersey, the International Academy of Music in Italy, and has taught at the Burgos International Music Festival. He also maintains a private voice studio in Manhattan where he lives together with his wife, pianist Yuri Kim.

In lessons, the focus lies on technical coordination just as much as on interpretation. Important goals are the correct coordination of breathing, posture, vocal flexibility, balanced registration, resonance, and tonal and dynamic range. A consistent vocal coordination based in the principles of classical voice production can also be applied to a variety of non-classical styles. Repertoire from different genres and in different languages is explored in tandem with specific vocal exercises for each student to address their particular musical interest and technical needs. Students also get the opportunity to perform in concerts organized by the Conservatory several times a year.

Nils Neubert maintains an active career as a performer in opera, recital and concert, both in the U.S. and abroad. He has performed with the Opera Company of Brooklyn, New York Lyric Opera, Pocket Opera NY, Liederkranz Opera Theatre, Encompass New Opera Theatre, New Jersey Verismo Opera, Amore Opera, Underworld Productions Opera Ensemble, and with the American Landmark Festivals. Recital and concert venues have included all 3 stages of Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Steinway and Yamaha Halls, Merkin and Goodman Halls at Kaufman Center, Boston's Jordan Hall, Harvard University's Sanders Theatre, and collaborations with institutions like the New York University Chorus, Queens College Choral Society, the Choral Society of the Hamptons, the Locrian Chamber Players, and 4x4 Baroque Music Festival.

"I am very happy and proud of Jun Luke Foster’s and Benjamin Boventer’s achievements. I taught
Jun Luke for 12 years and his acceptance to Juilliard School of Music is a great sign of his musical maturity and accomplishment. He was also accepted to Harvard and Yale. Benjamin was with me for five years. He won a prestigious $40,000 scholarship from Skidmore College for music studies. He was the only pianist in that competition who received this award. He was also accepted at Tufts University. It is very satisfying to know that our students continue to achieve such success."
