Born in China, Lin Li earned her bachelors degree in piano performance from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. After immigrating to the United States, she earned her masters degree in piano performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College (C.U.N.Y.).

“I want my students to develop a good technique at a young age,” says Lin, “based on the same principals that I was taught in China. I always encourage students to practice and let them know what an important part music can play in their lives.”

Lin joined the Conservatory faculty in 2004. She also teaches at the Weston Music Center School of Performing Arts in Connecticut and is the accompanist for the Queens College Choral Society. She was formerly an Assistant Professor of piano at Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, and former Staff Accompanist at Arizona State University. One of Ms. Li’s current students will shortly be traveling to Washington D.C. to compete in the final round of The International Young Artist Piano Competition.

An active and enthusiastic performer, Ms. Li’s credits include a solo performance of the Schumann Piano Concerto with the Queens College Orchestra, a recital with flutist Elise Carter at Weill Recital Hall, and accompanying Metropolitan Opera Singers Gordon Hawkins and Isola Jones at the Arizona Opera’s recent gala concert.

"I am very happy and proud of Jun Luke Foster’s and Benjamin Boventer’s achievements. I taught
Jun Luke for 12 years and his acceptance to Juilliard School of Music is a great sign of his musical maturity and accomplishment. He was also accepted to Harvard and Yale. Benjamin was with me for five years. He won a prestigious $40,000 scholarship from Skidmore College for music studies. He was the only pianist in that competition who received this award. He was also accepted at Tufts University. It is very satisfying to know that our students continue to achieve such success."
