Juliet Gopoian was born into a musical family in Teheran, Iran. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Teheran with teachers trained in Russia. At the age of 11, she moved to the states and entered the preparatory division of the Juilliard School of Music on a scholarship. She later graduated from the High School of Music and Art and subsequently received her bachelors degree in piano performance from the Juilliard College division. She later earned a Certificate in Arts Administration from Purchase College.

After graduating, Juliet established a private teaching studio while continuing to perform in solo and chamber concerts. She was the founding member of the Hitchcock Trio and a founding board member of the Westchester Philharmonic, later becoming co-chair of the Orchestra’s programming and education committees. Juliet has also served as co-chair of The New York State Music Teacher’s Association annual competition. She has been on the facility of The Music Conservatory of Westchester for 16 years and has served as Assistant Dean and coordinator of the piano department.

“I believe that all students should experience music at their highest potential. This can be achieved if a teacher is able to impart all the elements of music making — reading, rhythmic accuracy, hand position, finger dexterity, style, and dynamics. This should be a goal for beginning as well as advanced students. To accomplished these goals one must introduce each musical concept separately, always keeping in mind that each student processes materials and learns his or her own pace.”

"I am very happy and proud of Jun Luke Foster’s and Benjamin Boventer’s achievements. I taught
Jun Luke for 12 years and his acceptance to Juilliard School of Music is a great sign of his musical maturity and accomplishment. He was also accepted to Harvard and Yale. Benjamin was with me for five years. He won a prestigious $40,000 scholarship from Skidmore College for music studies. He was the only pianist in that competition who received this award. He was also accepted at Tufts University. It is very satisfying to know that our students continue to achieve such success."
